About us
Built around a simple idea
Why we built it
Rest is not a luxury, but a necessity.
In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, The Weekend Pause offers something different — a chance to slow down.
Set amidst a private 70-cent coffee plantation in Wayanad, this thoughtfully designed retreat is built around that one belief. Here, mornings arrive with birdsong, mist drifts across the hills, and time seems to unfold a little more gently.
We didn't want to build a hotel. We wanted a house — one where the doors slide all the way open, where the kitchen is part of the conversation, and where nobody hands you an itinerary at the door.
Where we are
Ambalavayal, in the south of Wayanad
The Weekend Pause sits in a 70-cent coffee plantation in Ambalavayal, Wayanad — surrounded by nature, close to the beauty of Edakkal and the Western Ghats.
Two cosy bedrooms, a relaxed living space, a dining area and an open pantry kitchen. Enough house to gather in, and enough land around it to disappear into for an afternoon.
What's nearby
What we believe
Luxury is not measured in excess, but in space and silence.
How we think about it
Three things we hold to
Openness over division
Rather than separating rooms with rigid boundaries, the architecture embraces openness — allowing light, air, conversation, and views to flow freely throughout the space. Large openings frame the surrounding greenery, inviting the outdoors in.
The whole house is yours
The retreat is designed as a complete private home — not a room in someone else's. No shared corridors, no other guests at breakfast. Just the people you arrived with.
Nothing scheduled
This is not a place filled with schedules, activities, or distractions. It is a place for slow breakfasts, long conversations, afternoon naps, evening walks, and quiet moments spent gazing at the hills — and for doing none of that, if you'd rather.
Who it's for
Families, friends, and two couples travelling together
The main house comfortably accommodates a family or two couples, with two bedrooms and generous shared space between them.
It is a place where children can run freely, where families can reconnect, and where weary minds can finally rest.
A home away from home
Come for the weekend.
Stay for the feeling.
If you're looking for a pause — a place where nature, space, and stillness come together — The Weekend Pause is waiting for you.
